Land Down Under

I have just returned from Australia so I was richly inspired.  The painting is a compilation of several trips to the Northeast of Australia.  The wildlife is the big draw whether it is the birds or the small padimelons.  While I lived there, I studied  Aboriginal pictographs.  Jackie, a guide also left an impression in my memories. I couldn't resist the Moreton  Bay Fig tree framing the painting.  I am happy with this blend of nature to the connection of the aboriginal presence.  I am not Australian, but I feel deeply how our histories collide and intertwine.  We both try to reconcile our mistakes but embrace and cherish what we have.
